Alt, Beck & Gottschalck Dolls 1854-1930 German

Alt, Beck & Gottschalck - ABG - produced bisque or china heads on kid or cloth and all bisque dolls from 1854-1930's in Nauendorf, Germany.  They made beautifully detailed child, lady dolls and character babies.  Reference books have identified more than 50 mold numbers, between 639 - 1304 that have been attributed to them, although they could be used by other manufacture's like Simon & Halbig, some of which are being reproduced today by doll artists.  Reproduction molds will be much smoother than the original old bisque, that feels slightly rough to the touch.  

Here are some dolls we have found by Alt, Beck & Gottschalck:

ca. 1880 Bisque shoulder head, 15-23" tall, body of kid leather or cloth with bisque limbs or combination, most have molded hair, some wore a wig, most have painted facial features, some have painted or glass eyes, most have closed mouths, some are open mouth, most have pierced ears.          ABG mold marks:

Lady, bisque & kid, 17"

ca. 1880 China shoulder head, 16-28" tall, body of kid, cloth with bisque limbs or combination, most have molded hair, some wore a wig, most have painted facial features, some have glass eyes, most have closed mouths, some are open mouth, most have pierced ears.   ABG mold marks:

Sweet Nell, 24" 

Mold:  1362

Baby or Toddler doll, 10-30" tall, bisque socket type head, bent limb multi piece body, wigged, sleep glass eyes sometimes with the flirty eyes, open mouth with teeth and tongue.  ABG mold marks:

Boy, Mold: 1352

ca. 1911 Girl Doll, 5-8" tall, all bisque jointed chubby body, wigged, sleep eyes or inset with painted open mouth, molded socks and black mary jane shoes. ABG mold marks: 83 over 100, 125, 150 or 225.

Note: Not all mold marks are listed here and accounted for, some other manufacturer's may have used these markings as well.
