Edmund Edelmann Dolls

1921-1933

Edmund Edelmann doll company of Sonneberg, Germany was in the doll making business from 1921-1933.  Bisque or composition socket heads were purchased from Armand Marseille or Schoenau & Hoffmeister.  Edelmann also supplied to doll hospitals. 

Edelmann made two types of character baby dolls; 

1).  Bisque socket head doll, 16, 20 or 24" tall, on a five piece composition toddler or bent limb baby body, as shown here.

2).  All composition doll, same sizes as above doll; composition socket head, composition jointed bent limb baby body, molded painted hair or wigged, sleep eyes, open mouth, some with pierced nostrils, doll mark A.M., Melitta Germany, Mine or SPBH Mona.
