1950s Sarold plastic doll face, 20" tall, marked Sarold in a circle

#1.  1950s Sarold Baby Doll, 25" tall, all hard plastic, molded hair, sleep eyes, open mouth with two lower teeth, jointed plastic body with bent or straight legs, doll mark Sarold Manufacturing Company Made in England in a circle.

The Sarold Manufacturing Company was located in both London and Liverpool.  They registered the Sarold trade mark patent no. 689831 on 14 June 1950.

They made dressed and undressed hard plastic dolls from 3" to 25" tall, molded hair or glued on wigs, the larger plastic dolls often had "Mama" voice boxes.

Dolls of all sizes that we have found, have sleep eyes.

Sarold dolls were sold through Woolworth department stores, and other stores.

It is unknown to us when Sarold's doll manufacturing business ceased, but it appears to be, before vinyl doll heads were made, as none have been found.

Before 1950 Sarold Baby Doll, 22" tall, doll mark British Made, M inside a star symbol.

#2.  Before 1950 Sarold Baby Doll, 22" tall, doll mark British Made, M inside a star symbol.

Before 1950 Sarold Baby Doll, 22" tall, all hard plastic, molded hair, sleep eyes, open mouth with two lower teeth, jointed plastic body with bent legs, doll mark British Made M inside a star symbol.

This doll is nearly the same as the above doll, especially the molded hair curls, open mouth with two lower teeth, except it's marked differently, as shown in the image below..

Thus it is presumed to be a Sarold doll prior to when it's Sarold trade mark was issued in 1950.
